Fletcher Marketing PR: Bringing Businesses to Life

Kelly Fletcher and Her Firm are Helping to Reimagine Communications

“How do you motivate the female consumer? In our company, we try to look through her lens for everything. How does she experience the product? How does it maker her life easier? Apart from consumerism, we focus on educating the woman consumer and affecting a positive change in behavior,” CEO and business owner Kelly Fletcher of Fletcher Marketing PR, says. “We’re experts at reaching the right women, at the right time, with the right message.”

With more than 20 years of experience directing business development and a dual degree in vocal performance and communication from Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina, Kelly built a full-service communications firm that specializes in integrated marketing strategies. The boutique agency began in 2008 and has grown to serve the needs of clients from regional, national and Fortune 500 companies with a focus on product development, multimedia production, media buying and market research.

“Our company creates content for platforms. We bring a business to life and give it a voice,” Kelly says.

Kelly constructed the idea of opening a public relations firm after graduating college and moving to New York. She attended auditions and worked odd jobs to support her lifestyle.

“When I was 29 years old, I was tired of living out of a suitcase and moving from city to city for work so I moved to Atlanta. It was there that I began to reinvent myself as a marketing professional,” she says.

With a second degree in communication, Kelly began working for a PR agency.

Divorced and with one child, she moved to Knoxville and began work as a director of public relations and corporate movement for Jewelry Television. Managing to negotiate her work as a contract-laborer for JVT, she began renting office space and selling designer clothes in a trunk show format to make extra money. Within a year, Fletcher Marketing PR was born.

“It was a matter of survival: I didn’t have anything to fall back on. I never thought it would grow into the company that it is now,” she says. “I just knew that I wanted to do work that I enjoyed. I didn’t have a grand plan. You grow passionate about an idea and work hard to make it happen. I wanted whatever I did in life to make an impact. If you want to build something, you have to take a risk. We only live once. Make it count.”
