The Little Gym International Honors Knoxville Entrepreneur

The Little Gym International, the world’s premier children’s enrichment and development franchise that offers a Springboard to Life’s Adventures with movement-based learning and imaginative play, announces Karalyne Ley of West Knoxville-Farragut, Tennessee, as the recipient of the 2018 Annual Franchise Owner of the Year Award. Karalyne was recognized for her outstanding contributions to The Little Gym at the company’s recent Reunion, an annual 3-day conference filled with brand building workshops and inspiring presentations. The Reunion is attended by hundreds of franchisees representing many of The Little Gym locations, which span 32 countries. 

The family business has grown to include The Little Gym locations in West Knoxville-Farragut, Tennessee; Greensboro, North Carolina; and Charleston-Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

As a business owner and leader, Karalyne has successfully managed several The Little Gym locations, and while she’s based out of the West Knoxville-Farragut area, she has ties to all four communities where her gyms are located.

KUB Names Gabriel Bolas II New President and CEO

The Knoxville Utilities Board Board of Commissioners has selected Gabriel “Gabe” Bolas II, senior vice president and chief engineer, to be the seventh president and CEO of the agency that serves more than 457,000 customers in Knoxville and parts of seven surrounding counties. Gabriel replaces Mintha Roach, who is retiring after serving as president and CEO of the organization since 2004.

Gabriel joined KUB in 1995 as an engineer and has held his current position of senior vice president and chief engineer since 2017.

Inc. magazine today revealed that Priority Ambulance is No. 521 on its 37th annual Inc. 5000, the most prestigious ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. The list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent small businesses. Microsoft, Dell, Domino’s Pizza, Pandora, Timberland, LinkedIn, Yelp, Zillow and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees on the Inc. 5000.

Headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee, Priority Ambulance is the highest-ranking company in the Knoxville area and is in among the top 10 highest-listed companies from Tennessee. Priority Ambulance far outpaces any other ambulance service on the list with 964 percent revenue growth over a three-year period.

Harry Herrmann, who has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, has been hired as the chief information officer for Summit Strategic Solutions and will oversee information technology services and solutions for the company’s clients.
